It was the first time since I left school that I was involved in a recording which wasn’t live! And it was fun to do!! I’m really keen on seeing/hearing the result! It went very well and Ernst presented his latest release: Dromen van Johanna – live. So many people asked him if the CD Dromen van Johanna was the same than what they had just experienced, which alas wasn’t as it was recorded with a full band.
The live CD should bring the listener closer back to the experience he had.
Why am I talking about it? cause I’m the one who recorded it ;-)

This year I got the assignment to help the Compagnie Carabosse to transform the Worp parc, on the other side of the river IJssel, into a magical place illuminated by about 2000 fire pots.

4 days building up
2 nights bewitching the audience.
2 days of breaking and cleaning up.
Meeting new and already known people, all of them being a great bunch of good folk
1 interview in the local paper here on the left (sorry Dutch only)
Some sweat and no tears, just big smiles!
Thousands of images and souvenirs fixed in my head forever
It was an amazing time!

I did do a couple of things here and there, with last Saturday a great day with the Gathering for their last show of the West Pole Tour (and I cant wait to hear some new material from them ;) )

October with be placed under the sign of Ernst Jansz sings Bob Dylan. With the show Dromen van Johanna (dreams of Johanna), the musician more known as band member of Doe Maar and CCC Inc. translated 12 songs by Bob Dylan  and switched his piano for an acoustic guitar. And I’ve been asked to mix the about 30 shows of the tour. After a rehearsal and first try out, I can say I’m thrilled to the idea to work with Ernst Jansz and his fellow musician Guus Paat (acoustic guitar, dobro & lapsteel).

It was great to mix in this absolutely breathtaking room!!
